This month’s featured pin is believed to be a promo from the original Load release in 1996, reportedly distributed in Europe—at least in Netherlands, Germany and the UK. March 2025’s Pin of the Month celebrates the 39th anniversary of the release of "Master of Puppets" in 1986! 🤘

According to my sources, this pin was originally used to promote the album’s UK debut and was sold at concerts across the UK back in 1986. It was manufactured in Birmingham’s famed Jewellery Quarter and marketed by Jeff Dolding of Holmfirth, who supplied concert merch at the time.

You can also spot this design in the wild in a variety of other colourways:

I thought I’d already shared January’s Pin of the Month, but the 800-pin milestone completely threw me off – time really does fly! 😅 My apologies for the delay.

We’re long overdue for a nod to an iconic @metallica pewter pin – So, here it is – the January 2025 Pin of the Month: the original “Whenever I May Roam” pewter pin, designed by @hyperstoic and crafted back in the 1990s (I suspect 1992, just like the shirt, but I’m not 100% sure).

Also, keep your eyes peeled – February’s Pin of the Month is coming sooner than you might think! ;)
